Not to forget, many of our Bollywood divas and debonair men found love the love of their life and decided to take the plunge by saying, ‘I Do.’ While some got married in a quiet, intimate ceremony, others had a big-fat royal wedding that would be remembered for ages to come.
From classic reds to subtle ivories and heritage heirlooms, our B-town beauties took both the quintessential and unconventional route to shell out THE bridal goals. Luckily, the pandemic of COVID-19 didn’t dampen the wedding vibes and allowed us to witness the sartorial magic that unfolded this year.

NATASHA DALAL
While love birds Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal had to put a pin on their nuptial plan last year, the global pandemic got nothing on them in 2021. Being the first celebrity couple to tie the knot, designer Natasha lead the bride tribe getting hitched to the actor in a small ceremony at Alibaug on January 24, 2021. Ditching the quintessential reds, Natasha chose subtle hues in pastels and ivory decorated with intricate embellishments and tassels as her dreamy wedding outfits. Unlike a typical OTT bride, Natasha kept her look understated and minimalistic throughout the wedding soiree.
DIA MIRZA
Sustainability champion Dia Mirza changed the dynamics of the wedding outfit as she turned a bride this year. Tying the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi on 15th February in a close-knit ceremony, she opted for a simple yet classic bridal red Raw Mango saree that could be used by her at any point of time, later in life. Lesson to learn here, ladies. Moreover, she kept her look minimalistic with contrasting green jewels, an understated glam and a classic gajra adorned bun. In the times of OTT bridal looks, this one came as a breath of fresh air!
ANGIRA DHAR
Joining the league of Dia Mirza, bride Angira Dhar also kept things subtle yet elegant with her minimalistic red Benarasi saree as she tied the knot with Anand Tiwari on April 30. Adding to the understated elegance were those traditional jewels and a radiant glow. Skipping an OTT affair with no pre-wedding looks or jazz, Angira turned out to be a stunning bride.
YAMI GAUTAM DHAR
Ditching shenanigans for simplicity, Yami honoured her Himachal roots with her understated yet beautiful wedding looks. Making her special day just about her loved ones and herself, the actress tied the knot with Uri director Aditya Dhar on June 4, in a low-key ceremony. Right from her minimalistic mehendi to her culture-backed pre-wedding looks, the actress flaunted her natural radiant glow on all occasions. Giving the designer lehengas a miss, Yami chose to wear her mother’s 33-year old bridal heirloom saree on her wedding day. Adding a personal touch to her trousseau, she completed her wedding outfit with a matching red dupatta gifted by her maternal grandmother. Not just the outfits, her jewels had a personal connection too. Yami's heirloom jewels included a gold choker set, maang-tikka and kalire along with a traditional Pahaadi Himachali Nath, which was a gift from her grandmother. DISHA PARMAR
Making fairytales come true, Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar got hitched on July 16 in a big fat traditional ceremony. Leaving no stone unturned our ravishing bride unleashed the glamour with her pre-draped sangeet saree, dazzling reception lehenga and pretty sharara suits. For the wedding, she channeled her inner princess in a mesmerizing Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga teamed with heritage jewels and old-world glamour. A classic dulhan, right here!
RHEA KAPOOR
Undoubtedly, Rhea was the most unconventional bride, this wedding season. Celebrating just love, the producer-influencer tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Karan Boolani on August 14 in a super-intimate, at-home ceremony, surrounded by close friends and family. With no pre-wedding shenanigans in the picture, the bride made it all about comfort and private celebration. Even for the D-day, Rhea gave a classic red, OTT lehengas a miss and got married wearing a white chanderi saree designed by a close friend and designer Anamika Khanna. Even in simplicity, the classy bride managed to set a trend with her unique pearl veil designed by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers. After dating for more than a decade, Patralekha married the love of her life Rajkummar Rao on November 15, in a dreamy ceremony at Chandigarh’s The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort with only a selected few in attendance. From a classy cocktail Jade by MK gown for engagement to metallic Amit Aggarwal shirts for pyjama party and sexy Shivan & Narresh resort wear for one of the festivities, Patra kept things vivacious and versatile for her wedding.
Speaking of her wedding and reception look, Patra took an elegant route with serene Sabyasachi sarees. If that wasn’t enough to melt our hearts and moist our eyes, the bride added a personal touch to her wedding outfit by inscribing a Bengali verse on the border of the veil, penned by couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee that translated to, “I surrender to you, my love-filled heart.’ As they say, it’s all in the details!

Shraddha tied the knot with a naval officer named Rahul in Delhi on November 16 in a grand yet private ceremony. From popping yellow Haldi lehenga to multi-hued mehendi attire and a bridal red shaadi ka joda, her wedding looks were screaming colours! Channeling her inner quintessential bride, Shraddha went all out unleashing a riot of hues with all her pre-wedding and nuptial looks, donned luxe jewels and went high on glamour making her the classic OTT dulhan.
ANUSHKA RANJAN
Anushka Ranjan ‘sealed’ the deal with Aditya Seal on November 21 with a big-fat Bollywood wedding! While the décor and arrangements were particularly spectacular, it was the bride’s thought-out sartorial choices that stole the show. the ‘bride-chilla’, surely ditched the repeated, quintessential way to go about things, especially with her wedding trousseau.
