The year 2020 will not only be remembered for COVID-19 but also the year of some of the most astonishing celebrity weddings. Love knows no limits and television couples proved it yet again during the lockdown through their intimate and love-filled weddings. For some, 2020 has been a bag of mixed emotions while for others, it has been the beginning of a new journey.

Owing to the restriction on the number of wedding guests because of the coronavirus pandemic, celebs could not have lavish, extravagant weddings but their love won over the pandemic and now, they are happily married. To our surprise, the list of what we now call lockdown weddings is quite long. From Neha Kakkar-Rohanpreet Singh to Niti Taylor-Parikshit Bawa, celebrities from all over the television industry lit up 2020 in their own grand style, as they entered marital bliss.

As 2020 comes to an end, let's check out all the television weddings that became the talk of the town this year.

Nehha Pendse-Shardul Bayas

May I Come In Madam actress Nehha Pendse tied the knot with Shardul Bayas on January 5 in Pune and set the ball rolling. The couple got married in a traditional Maharashtrian wedding ceremony. The wedding was a close-knit affair, which was attended by the couple’s family and close friends. Nehha got engaged to Shardul in August last year and announced her 2020 wedding soon after. The actress has been sharing her 'happily married' photos on social media ever since.

Kamya Punjabi-Shalabh Dang

The wedding season in the telly world went on full swing as Kamya Punjabi tied the nuptial knot once again. The actress married her beau Shalabh Dang in a Gurudwara wedding on February 10. The 40-year-old actress got married to Delhi-based businessman Shalabh in an Anand Karaj ceremony with both families in attendance. The wedding indeed proved to be a blissful affair for the families. Earlier, Kamya was married to Bunty Negi with whom she has a 10-year-old daughter Aara.

Puja Banerjee-Kunal Verma

The longtime couple and TV stars Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma were supposed to have a grand wedding in April but things took a U-turn after the nationwide lockdown was imposed. The couple, on the day they were supposed to get married, announced on Instagram that they already had a court marriage almost a month ago. In August, the couple announced Puja's pregnancy and they welcomed their first child, a baby boy on October 9.

Ashutosh Kaushik-Arpita Tiwari

Bigg Boss 2 winner Ashutosh Kaushik married his fiancee Arpita Tiwari in a proper lockdown wedding on April 26. The duo had a low-key wedding ceremony on a terrace in the presence of only family members. Some of their friends and relatives attended the wedding through a video conference session and joined the couple on their new journey ahead. Their wedding was pre-planned since last year, hence they went ahead with an intimate lockdown wedding.

Niti Taylor-Parikshit Bawa

Niti Taylor and her fiancé Parikshit Bawa took their fans by surprise as they announced their wedding on October 6, two months after tying the knot. The couple got married as per the traditional Sikh ceremony during the lockdown on August 13 without sharing the news on social media. In October, Niti posted photos and videos of herself dressed as a bride and wrote about her 'COVID wedding'. Soon after, Niti started sharing photos from her newly married life with her husband Parikshit.

Manish Raisinghan-Sangeita Chauhaan

Television actor Manish Raisinghan and Sangeita Chauhan got married in a Gurudwara in Mumbai on June 30. The two hid about their wedding plans for quite some time before tying the knot. The couple directly treated fans with their wedding photos. Manish and Sangeita tied the knot in an Anand Karaj ceremony with only family members in presence.

Neha Kakkar-Rohanpreet Singh

The cutest wedding of the year and we have to agree! Singer Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh's wedding was the talk of the town in October. The couple made it official on Instagram on October 9 and within one month, got married. 10 days after announcing her relationship with Rohanpreet, who is also a singer, Neha shared glimpses of their Roka ceremony. Their wedding festivities, including mehendi, haldi and sangeet functions, began on October 23 and the couple had a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony in Delhi on October 24. A grand wedding reception was hosted in Chandigarh, where both Neha's and Rohanpreet's families blessed the newlywed couple. Neha's and Rohanpreet's love story is nothing short of a fairytale, the two met on the sets of their song Nehu Da Vyah, fell in love and decided to tie the knot within a month of meeting each other.

Sana Khan-Anas Saiyad

Bigg Boss 6 finalist Sana Khan's life went through several ups and downs in 2020. In February this year, the actress accused her then-boyfriend Melvin Louis of cheating on her. The two went public about their separation and their ugly spat made it to the headlines, every now and then. On October 8, the actress decided to quit showbiz 'to serve humanitarian purposes'. A month later, on November 20, the actress decided to enter marital bliss by marrying a Gujarat-based businessman named Anas Saiyad in an intimate ceremony. The actress informed her fans that she tied the knot with Sayed 'for the sake of Allah'. We wish Sana a happily married life ahead.

Shaheer Shaikh-Ruchhika Kapoor

Television actor Shaheer Sheikh and his girlfriend, Ruchikaa Kapoor, put an end to all the speculations of them dating as they announced their court marriage in November. The couple surprised their fans with their wedding announcement almost two weeks after they made their relationship official on Instagram. Ruchika and Shaheer kept it simple and went ahead with a private court marriage. Their fans were overjoyed with the news and flooded their posts with congratulatory messages.

Aditya Narayan-Shweta Agarwal

Singer Aditya Narayan and his long-time girlfriend, actress Shweta Agarwal, had a close-knit wedding in Mumbai on December 1. Aditya, who is the son of renowned playback singer Udit Narayan, and Shweta dated for ten long years before they decided to spend their lives together. The couple's wedding was attended by not more than 50 people as a precaution against COVID-19. Earlier this year, Aditya had quashed rumours of dating Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar and had termed their chemistry as a part of the reality show's script. Coincidentally, both Neha and Aditya tied the knot this year within a span of two months with their respective partners.

Gauahar Khan-Zaid Darbar

Internet's current favourite couple Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar ended the year with a bang as they tied the knot on December 25. Gauahar met famous Bollywood music composer Ismail Darbar's son Zaid, a content creator and choreographer, in July this year. After much speculation, the actress announced her wedding to Zaid on December 1 on social media. The two even shot for their pre-wedding photoshoot at ITC Maratha, Mumbai in November. Their wedding photos took over the internet and how.
