Boney Kapoor flew his family to Chennai in Rameshwaram to immerse the ashes of late Sridevi according to the Hindu traditions of asthi-visarjan.

Daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor were seen next to their father along with a priest standing on the banks of the Rameswaram river. Arjun Kapoor who was next to his father's side since the news broke, was not present. The actor already flew to Amritsar along with Parineeti Chopra to start shooting for their upcoming film Namastey England.

Sridevi passed away on the night of February 24 in the UAE. The actress was present there with her family to attend Mohit Marwah’s wedding. A few days after the wedding, she decided to stay back and on Saturday she passed away due to “accidental drowning”, as per Dubai authorities.
