In a sad turn of events, Bollywood today evening (change date) lost the veteran actor and superstar Shashi Kapoor. The Padma Bhushan recipient passed away in a Mumbai hospital today after prolonged illness.

As soon the news of Shashiji's sudden demise spread, the yesteryear’s heartthrob residence in Pali Hill was flooded with B-Town celebrities.

Family members Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Krishna Raj Kapoor, along with Boney Kapoor and Rumi Jeffery were among the first ones to arrive at the hospital. The superstar’s son Kunal Kapoor was also seen at the venue.

As Rishi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were out of town, they flew down soon after hearing about Shashiji's death. While Saif arrived with a bereaved Kareena Kapoor Khan, elder sister Karisma Kapoor came with mom Babita.

The Bachchans were among the first ones to arrive with Shashi Kapoor's co-star in iconic films like Deewar, Amitabh Bachchan was seen with son Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Adar Jain, Armaan Jain, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Vaibhavi Merchant, Boney Kapoor and more celebrities were seen reaching his residence to pay their last respects to the late star.
