If you notice a spurt in the numbers of tourists hanging out at the Gateway of India, you can be sure the Khan family is having a celebration at their Alibaug home. Nothing like a bit of sightseeing combined with star-gazing! This time it’s the upcoming birthday celebrations of Shah Rukh himself, which will tee off tonight itself. Since morning, family and close friends have been heading to the jetty at Colaba, to board their private speedboats and be ferried across to his Alibaug farmhouse.

Gauri Khan along with her mother Savita Chibber, Shweta Bachchan and designer Vikram Phadnis were spotted walking to the pier, while the next lot of images show Suhana Khan along with her friends Shanaya Kapoor and Ananya Pandey. The guest list includes Gauri's friends Sussanne Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey and Anu Dewan, who were also snapped at Gateway of India.

For those looking for dressing inspiration for Mumbai’s perennially warm weather, tips galore to be taken from Gauri’s sleeveless top and comfy sneakers, Suhana’s short denim shorts and knotted tee, Maheep Kapoor’s lemon fresh kurta, and Ananya Pandey’s pretty sundress - Shweta’s Bachchan’s immaculate white pants though are more South of France than South Mumbai! Of course, designer shades are de rigeur.

No sign of the birthday boy yet but then last year, he had whisked Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji, off via chopper to his mansion, which has its own private helipad!
We can’t wait for a peek into the festivities that will unfold tonight at the Khans’ sprawling seaside villa, which is their favourite entertainment ground. We are guessing little AbRam might also host his own little party at his very own tree house cabin, which his doting dad had especially commissioned for him as a New Year’s gift. SRK had handed over the project to the National Award winning director Sabu Cyril and his daughter, who had worked on the playhouse at Mehboob Studio in Bandra, until Daddy was finally satisfied with the project. The treehouse cabin was then placed in the sprawling gardens of the Alibaug bungalow, where AbRam inaugurated it with his little friends. Party time is at hand!
