Cristin Milioti to star opposite Colin Farrell in ‘The Penguin’

Cristin Milioti will play the female lead opposite Colin Farrell in the DC original limited drama series The Penguin (working title). The Penguin is a spinoff of Matt Reeves directed The Batman that starred Robert Pattinson in the lead as the caped crusader. The series will expand the workd created by Reeves and will focus on the character played by Farrell in the film. Milioti will play Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone, who was played by John Turturro in the film. Sofia is fighting with The Penguin (Farrell) for control of the city. The Penguin is executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell and Lauren LeFranc who also serves as showrunner and Craig Zobel, who directs the first two episodes.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II to play Simon Williams in Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast to star as the lead in the Disney+series Wonder Man, where he will be playing the role of Simon Williams. Destin Daniel Cretton has been roped in to direct with head writer Andrew Guest penning the script. Williams is the son of a wealthy businessman whose company. Williams Innovations, is forced out of business due to competition from Tony Stark’s Stark Industries. Simon seeks help from Baron Zemo out of desperation, and the villain grants him abilities while ordering him to sabotage and later betray the Avengers.

However, Simon eventually decides to commit himself to the Avengers and even helps to form the West Coast Avengers, a spin-off group. It’s unclear, though, how much or how little of this plot will be included in the show. Ben Kingsley is expected to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery, a failed actor turned reformed villain, which he first played in 2013’s Iron Man 3 and then reprised in Shang-Chi: The Legend of Ten Rings so it does seem likely that William’s comic history as an actor and stunt performer will be relevant to the plot of the show.

Jeff Goldblum in talks to star as Wizard in ‘Wicked’ movies

Jeff Goldblum is all set to follow the yellow brick road. The actor is in final talks to play the Wizard in Jon M.Chu’s upcoming Wicked movies. Jonathan Bailey has been tapped to play Fiyero in the films. Chu’s two-part feature adaptation is headlined by Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Wicked is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and will tell the story of how Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

The Universal Pictures films are set for Christmas release in 2024 and 2025.

Joe Locke joins Kathryn Hahn in WandaVision spinoff series ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’

Joe Locke has been cast as the male lead opposite Kathryn Hahn in WandaVision spinoff series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Although not much is known about the plot but Locke’s character has been described as a gay teen with a wicked sense of humour. Hahn will reprise her role as WandaVision antagonist Agatha in the series along with Emma Caulfied Ford who will once again play Dottie from WandaVision. Hahn’s Agatha Harkness appeared in Marvel/Disney+ series WandaVision that was headlined by Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen.
