Namaste New York! Post 07's unsuccessful attempt, Sabyasachi opens his epynomous store on the streets of New York once again

On October 16, renowned Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee unveiled a brand-new site in New York City. The designer from Kolkata revealed inside views from the lavish flagship store even before it was opened on Christopher Street at 160 in New York City.

This begins a new chapter for Sabyasachi's couture products, which have been a huge hit with brides and customers throughout the world.

Although the designer's clothing has been sold in stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Browns, and Selfridges, this would be his first outlet in international seas. At the same time, his new collection, "The New York edit," will also be released.

The space offers halls that are floor to ceiling in framed paintings that draw inspiration from Qajar art from the Persian empire, Mughal miniatures from the 16th century, Indian Pichhwais, and old pictures. This elaborate maze, where tables were overflowing with food served on silver—a particular arrangement for the event—was lit up by low-hanging glass lights.

Considering his successful all-white couture line for foreign brides and the Indian brides desiring a sliver of wedding regalia that shows their Indian background on the big day, Sabyasachi's global presence has mostly existed within the framework of bridal couture. With the opening of this store and the release of his new line, the designer is also experimenting in a brand-new market for clothing that moves beyond bridal and into a younger version of his signature designs on breezy dresses, trousers, and trenches along with saris and kaftans while still maintaining his craftsmanship.

After his failure, the designer made a powerful comeback post-pandemic. “I hate failing. It was the right place at the wrong time,” Sabyasachi said of an early foray into the American market in 2007, “so I said ‘fine, I’ll go back,’ and when I come back to America on my own terms, I will.” What followed has been a sort of fairy tale rise that most fashion designers can only dream of.

How lavish this store is right? What are your thoughts?
