Music moghul and fashion wiz Kanye West has added another feather to his hat. Bloomberg has reported that the rapper is worth a whopping 6 billion dollars making him the richest Black man in US history. A large chunk of that fortune is a result of his Yeezy sneaker business summing up to $3.2 billion to $4.7 billion after reviewing private documents.
Bloomberg also reported that Kanye’s upcoming Gap collaboration could be worth as much as $970 million. In addition to that, an unaudited balance sheet of the rapper’s finances, provided to Bloomberg by his lawyer showed an additional income of $122 million coming from his music catalog, cash, stocks and $1.7 billion in business investments including estranged wife Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand.
It is reported that Gap expects the rapper's clothing and apparel collection to break $150 million in sales in its first full year in 2022. Despite the pandemic, Yeezy Adidas witnessed a massive boom in sales as they continued to grow by 31% and bringing in nearly $1.7 billion annual revenue.
Kanye, who claimed a debt of $53 million has showcased a sharp turnaround that deserves recognition. His latest Yeezy line with Gap is expected to launch in July this year in turn adding to his long list of fortunes.
