Even in the final moments of 2020, it seems like this fashion-cursed year is far from getting over. Days after his birthday on December 26, famous fashion designer Alexander Wang has been all over the news for his alleged ‘sexually abusive and substance- fueled’ behavior. Known for his Party Animal personality, he has been accused of alluring and misbehaving with male and trans models quite often. Though this had been under the wraps for a really long time now, shocking tales behind the glitzy glam fashion biz have now been coming into the spotlight.
It all started when an anonymous Instagram page, Shit Model Management brought forth the story of a male model Owen Mooney, who faced this incident in 2017. Mooney accused the American designer of groping him in a packed NYC club where he was too shocked to even move. Following the lead, many other male and trans models came forward with their incident which seemed like a similar pattern. Many victims accused him of drugging them by slipping Molly or other drugs that lead them to blacked-out nights. Fashion’s watchdog Diet Prada took it to its Instagram account and lent its voice to the trans and male models who decided to speak up. Shedding light on this serious issue, DP shared a series of stories from the models and their friends.
Apart from drugging and groping, Wang has been accused of exposing the genitals of trans-women. Wang’s former muse rapper Azealia Banks shared stories of some accounts on her Twitter where victims testified his similar behavior. Since the sexually abusive stories of male models are not given enough attention, Mooney has already started facing a backlash for coming out. This is why people are worried to share their stories of sexual predators,” he captioned his story.
