Talking about her makeup in an interview for a magazine feature, Gomez said that she wanted to make a beauty line that doesn’t necessarily make people need products to make them feel ‘beautiful’. "I wanted to start a conversation about how can you make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about needing these things to make yourself feel beautiful," She also stated that she used real people in the brand’s campaigns. "People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of that pressure. I use real people in the campaigns."

Well, not just this, Gomez also introduced a Mental Health initiative, Rare Impact Fund that aims with an effort to raise $100 million for mental health services for underserved communities over the next 10 years. One percent of the proceeds of the annual sale along with funds from partners would be donated to this fund for a noble cause. Apart from the fund, the brand has also created a Rare Beauty Mental health council to guide and advise the company to create a maximum impact.

"I'm so grateful to be surrounded by a team that's helped make the Rare Impact Fund a reality," Gomez said in a statement as stated by an online website Popsugar. "Since the brand's inception, we wanted to find a way to give back to our community and further support people who needed access to mental health services, which have had a profound impact on my life. Rare Beauty is focused on helping people feel more connected to one another and less alone in the world."
