Looks like, the former Chief Executive Officer of Tommy Hilfiger and PVH Europe, Daniel Grieder is likely to step up as a new CEO of Hugo Boss. The German fashion house released a statement saying that they have been in talks with Grieder to take up the role as a successor to the current CEO Mark Langer, who plans to step down on September 30, 2020.

“The personnel committee of the supervisory board is in talks with Daniel Grieder, former CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe. Hugo Boss will inform the capital market and the public about the progress of the discussions in accordance with the legal requirements,” read its statement.

Daniel stepped down as Hilfiger’s CEO earlier this week and was succeeded by Martijn Hagman, whom he had worked closely for 12 years. Grieder mentioned in an interview that he was looking for something more ‘entrepreneurial’. “I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I’m looking for something more entrepreneurial where I can invest. I feel ready, I feel strong, I feel full of energy and spirit, and am ready to do something in the future where I can bring my entrepreneurial spirit into whatever I’m going to do,” he said, as stated by an online website, Women’s Wear Daily.

Langer worked with Boss for 18 years and took over as its CEO in 2016. The decision to quit came after activist investors demanded Boss’ faster progress, earlier this year. This included the letter from Italy-based investors Bluebell Capital Partners, who demanded changes in Mark’s policy as well as the top management. However, in their defense, the investors say they have nothing to do with Langer’s decision.
