Telugu film Baahubali: The Conclusion wins the award for Best Action Direction film.

Ganesh Acharya wins his second national award for Toilet: Ek Prem Katha

Divya Dutta wins the award for her portrayal of a Cheif Minister of an imaginary state in the Hindi film titled Irada. 

Baahubali wins the Swarna Kamal for best production for its special effects, animation and action.

Nagraj Manjule wins Best Director in the Non-Feature film category for his film titled Pavasacha Nibandh.

Rana Dagubatti's Ghazi wins the Best Telugu Film.

Kacha Limbu wins the award for Best Marathi Film.

AR Rahman wins the award for Best Music Direction and Best Background Music for Mom and Katru Veliyidai respectively.

Late Sridevi conferred the honour for Best Actress for her last film Mom, a revenge drama.

Best Film for Environment/Conservation/Preservation was given to Irada starring Divya Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.

Nargis Dutt Award for the Best feature film is given to the Marathi film Dhappa.

Over an hour and a half, after the event began, the President of India comes in to give awards to the selected few winners at the Vigyan Bhavan along with the first lady Mrs. Kovind.

The most prestigious award of the evening, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award is conferred to the late actor and a legend Mr. Vinod Khanna. The honour was received by his heir and wife Akshaye Khanna and Kavita Khanna. He has acted over 145 films. He is one of the few actors who rose to fame of being a mainstream actor even after having started off as a negative role actor.

Director Nipun Dharmadhikari receives the honour of Nargis Dutt Award for his Marathi film Dhappa.

Boney Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor head to the stage to receive the award on behalf of his late wife Sridevi.

Best Feature film, Village Rockstars, wins its fourth award tonight.

Smriti Irani delivers her speech. She talks about her gratitude for being in the same room as Shekhar Kapur, AR Rahman, Prasoon Joshi, Yesudas, etc.. She says these are the legends who inspire little ones like Bhanita Das. Smriti also mentions Sridevi and her absence on the day. She finds herself fortunate to have been there to see the honour being delivered to Late Vinod Khanna.
