‘Equation with Hina Khan has changed forever’, says Hiten Tejwani

Tempers flaring over tiny issues is nothing new in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house - blame it on the format of the show - but contestants like Hiten challenge this mind-set of the audience.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he was the monk in the house who practiced what he preached. We barely saw him losing his mind, except for once or twice, but come on give the guy a break, he was mercilessly waxed for a task!

This Sunday, in a shocking turn of events when Salman asked the housemates to make a choice between Hiten and Priyank, the majority in the house chose Priyank. This did not just shock the fans but also the host, who was in awe of Hiten’s patience inside the house.

I caught up with Hiten for a chat over the phone, and the gentleman that he is, he politely and calmly gave us all the dope on what’s going behind the 60 minutes that we see.

"The game is not in the house, it’s the one outside in the real world"

Salman was very appreciative of you in the house, did he speak to you after you came out?

Yes, Salman met me and was all praises for me. Those words coming from him was my trophy, I thought I have won the game.

(FYI, Salman has not met anyone personally post their exit.)

Are you shocked that Shilpa chose Priyank over you, the same guy who body-shamed her?

(Calmly) Yes, it did come as a rude shock. Yes, I was hurt. I am told that she missed me yesterday and she also apologized. However, if she felt I was a strong contender, she should have chosen to compete with me rather than voting me out. That’s what I also would have done. Now, that I have come out, I have realised the fan following that she has. I don’t know how her fans are taking this decision of hers, but I have no hard feelings.

Let’s talk about Hina Khan…

(Still maintaining his calm) I am glad that people have come to know the real Hina Khan. She is the most untrustworthy person in the house, who has never stood by her words. I hope she realises the amount of damage she has done to her reputation.

Salman said this to me while chatting after my exit, that the game is not in the house, it’s the one outside in the real world and god bless Hina with her self-maligning her hard-earned name and bringing it down to dust. Yes, she is fake and she always gets into unnecessary fights.

Hina accused you of following Vikas like a shadow…

That’s what she is good at, right? Drawing assumptions on her own logic, painting the other person’s image wrong… What she does not realize is that it’s actually hurting her own image.

Vikas and I shared a like-mindedness and if I had a problem with Vikas or his opinion, I voiced it and he humbly gave me my space. This is beyond the understanding of someone with Hina’s mentality.

You and Hina are from the same fraternity, have the events in the house changed your equations with her, will you guys be friends ever again?

Whatever has happened in the house between Hina and me has deeply affected me. I hope she realises that when she comes out. I am not the kind of person to keep grudges, so I am going to acknowledge her presence if we meet, but if she throws a fit or gives me attitude then I will quietly move away.

Is it true that Colors has offered Hina a contract saying that she will be surviving till the end? Why else is she so chilled out about her nomination?

No, I don’t think that is true. If it had been then I think they would do it with some other people too. I think she is chilled out as she thinks she has a lot of fan following, I hope that the fan base still exists. There is no truth to all this, nothing is morphed or fabricated.

Vikas is getting very close to Priyank… What do you have to say about it?

(Laughs) Yes, I also saw and heard how Vikas is getting close with Priyank. I can’t say much, but I think everybody is playing a game and who knows if they wanted my eviction? Vikas’s closeness has not just shocked housemates but his fans too.

What do you have to say about Arshi?

Arshi was truly supportive, she always supported me for nominations, for captaincy and other things too. Yes, initially I was very mad at her for flirting with me but, at the end of the day, she never crossed her line and that respect has always been there.

Who do you think will be in top three, who does not deserve to and should be out of the game and who do you think will win?

I think it’s time for Luv, Priyank and Akash to leave as they don’t deserve to be there anymore. As far as top three are concerned, it should be Vikas, Shilpa, and Hina or Arshi...Arshi, because she has really come far and has only been nominated once in the game.

As of now, I think Vikas deserves to win. He always said to me that I should win and today I say the same for him.

On a final note, are you going to start waxing now?
(Laughs) No, I am just waiting for it to grow back.
