25 years of Karan Johar: 6 films, 6 iconic scenes from the filmmaker's kitty & we cannot wait for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

Over the last 2 decades, Karan Johar has given the Indian film industry some of the most iconic films. Be it his debut directorial, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the ever-popular Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham or the youth favourite Student Of The Year, he has never failed to entertain his audience with his stories. While we speak about his prowess as a filmmaker, it cannot be ignored that some of them were home to the best moments that redefined Hindi cinema.

The popularity of these moments refuses to fade and rightly so. Whether it is Shah Rukh Khan's dramatic and unforgettable entry scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham or the hard-hitting and relatable 'Ek Tarfa Pyaar' dialogue from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, these sequences are forever etched in our hearts as well as the cinema industry.

With his next directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, around the corner, we cannot wait to see Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Karan create more such memorable moments.

Don't you feel we should revisit these moments and celebrate the power of Karan Johar's film?! So, here we go!

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

While Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is iconic in various ways but one cannot forget the scene where Anjali (Kajol) left Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and her feelings for him behind and returned home. Dressed in a simple white kurta and a red dupatta, the scene was symbolic as she passed on the emotion she had for Rahul to Tina (Rani Mukerji) by throwing her dupatta out of the moving train.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Who can forget this scene? With Lata Mangeshkar's vocals playing in the background, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) made a dashing and dramatic entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He reunited with his mother (Jaya Bachchan) who waited for him at the door with aarti thali. It remains relevant, thanks to millions of memes and reels made on this very moment.

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

When powerhouses of talent-Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta come together on the screen, expect nothing but fireworks! Their scene in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was proof. The final encounter scene remains to be sensitive, beautifully executed and something that the industry shall never forget.

My Name Is Khan

In Karan's blockbuster, My Name Is Khan, Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) suffered from Asperger's syndrome. In one of the most memorable scenes, he corrected the pronunciation of his last name and said it is not Kan, but Khan from the epiglottis.

Student Of The Year

Student Of The Year marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. While the film was about a college competition, the core emotion that flowed throughout was love. Highlighting the beginning of a love triangle, it had a scene where Shanaya (Alia) was unable to wear her earrings. Abhimanyu (Sidharth) came to her rescue and helped her get ready for a wedding. What a lovely and sweet scene it was!

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Shah Rukh Khan's cameo as Saba's (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) former boyfriend was poetic, relatable and defined a new genre of cinema. As he spoke about the beauty of one-sided love, we all could sense the depth in his words.

Aren't we all excited for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani?
