Krishna Janmashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It is observed according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar, on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in Shraavana or Bhadrapad, which overlaps with August or September of the Gregorian calendar. With the ushering in of the auspicious occasion, Bollywood celebrities on Tuesday also extended their greetings with much spiritual fervour on social media. A host of celebrities from the entertainment industry took to the social media platforms to wish their fans on Janmashtami.
