Television actor Zain Imam, who is presently seen in Colors’ celebrity reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi season 9, has been signed on for an upcoming fiction show. Titled Mahishasur Ki Leela, the show stars Zain as the male lead and is being bankrolled by Idea Rack for one of the leading General Entertainment Channels, ZEE TV.
Set against the backdrop of Varanasi, Mahishasur Ki Leela is a romantic comedy. The show revolves around a carefree and vivacious girl called Leela who accidentally brings back the devil of Mahishasur to life. As soon as Mahishasur comes to life and sees Leela for the first time, he falls in love with him.

While Zain has been cast to play the lead role of Mahi (Mahishasur) in the show, actress Priyamvada Kant, who rose to fame after playing the character of Sharda in SAB TV’s historical comedy series Tenali Rama, has been finalized for the role of Leela.

Besides Zain and Priyamvada, the cast of Mahishasur Ki Leela also includes such popular actors as Pawan Madan, Akhilendra Mishra and Samta Sagar, among others. Many more actors are expected to join the cast soon.
The show is currently in the pre-production stage and the regular shooting is expected to commence very soon.
