Actors leaving shows halfway is not a new phenomenon in the television industry. If you are a real TV buff, you will already know hundreds of actors who decided to bid goodbye to their popular shows for a variety of reasons. And the ever-growing list of such actors has now got yet another interesting addition to it!
According to a well-placed source, veteran actor Makarand Deshpande, who plays the popular character of Betaal on the hit &TV show Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha, is making his exit from the fantasy drama series.

Produced by Peninsula Pictures, Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha began its journey on October 16, 2018. While Deshpande was seen in the role of Betaal, the character of King Vikramaditya is played by Ahem Sharrma, also known for his breakout performance as Karna in Swastik Productions’ magnum opus Mahabharat.
Though there is no official announcement on what led Makarand to put his papers down in just three months, the source divulges that the actor was not quite happy with how his character was taking shape on the show and hence decided to exit.
As soon as the makers got to know about Deshpande’s decision of leaving the show, they did not waste any time and signed on talented actor Ayaam Mehta as a replacement of the former. Mehta, who received rave reviews for his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat (2018), will be introduced as new Betaal on Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha very soon.
