Tovino Thomas’ 2018 that focused on the Kerala floods of 2018 becoming one of the Malayalam biggest films, has been officially out of the Oscars list. Previously, the makers announced about the film being shortlisted in the top 15 films under the category of Best International Feature but didn’t make it to the final list of the top 10. 

It has been mentioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after the shortlist films for Oscars 2024 was out on December 22.

Contrary, Indo–Canadian filmmaker Nisha Pahuja’s short documentary titled To Kill A Tiger which follows the story of the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl has been shortlisted in the Documentary Feature Film category.
