Veteran actress Tanuja has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai's Juhu area. The 80-year-old was taken into the ICU on Sunday evening due to age-related health issues. A source informed PTI that the actress is under observation.
The source shared, "She is under observation and is doing well. There’s nothing to worry about." Tanuja is mother to Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji. While she stopped acting a couple of years ago, her latest public appearance was at the Mukerji family's North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja this year.
Tanuja, who has acted in numerous films including Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi, Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi and Mere Jeevan Sathi, is the daughter of filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth. She has worked not just in Hindi cinema but in Bengal as well. Tanuja tied the knot with filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee and has two daughters, Kajol and Tanishaa. Ajay Devgn is her son-in-law.
