Bobby Deol reveals there was a kiss with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal climax: Sandeep Reddy Vanga removed it

Undoubtedly, it is the year of the Deols. Bobby Deol, who is back in form, has been the talk of the town ever since Animal's teaser featured him as the antagonist. The excitement built over a while and with the release of the crime drama, Lord Bobby, as his fans call him, is receiving all the love and appreciation. He played the role of Abrar. One of the key sequences features Bobby fighting with Ranbir Kapoor on an airstrip. It was the climax of Animal.

Talking about the climax face-off with Ranbir, Bobby recalled the brief given to him by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. B Praak's chartbuster song, Saari Duniya Jala Denge, plays in the background as Bobby and Ranbir engage in intense combat. The actor said in an interview with The Quint, "There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love."

Bobby revealed that Sandeep had initially included a kiss with Ranbir which didn't make to the final cut. He added, "He (Sandeep) said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don’t give up, and he kills you’. But he removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute’."

The actor further shared, "Both their families love each other. We are family. There is love for each other’s brothers. But that moment was also Sandeep’s idea. We were doing the fight sequence, practicising for it, and then he said, ‘You know what Bobby, I want you to punch him and lie on top of him’. It was more about me being powerful. Obviously, the hero always wins in the end. And the shot of me unzipping, it was his idea. He brings that alpha thing to every character."

Animal released on December 1, 2023, in theatres worldwide.
