Veteran actor, Junior Mehmood, is no more. At the age of 67, he breathed his last after a long battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. His health had deteriorated in the last couple of weeks. Junior Mehmood was undergoing treatment for stomach cancer at Mumbai's Tata Memorial Hospital.
Junior Mehmood's friend, Salim Kazi confirmed the news to ETimes and said the funeral will be held at noon today at the Juhu Muslim Cemetery, where his mother was buried. Junior Mehmood was at his residence at the time of his death.
Born as Naeem Sayyed, Junior Mehmood acted in films like Caravan, Haathi Mere Saathi and Mera Naam Joker. He began his career with Mohabbat Zindagi Hai (1966) and Naunihal (1967). In 1968, he got the screen name, Junior Mehmood by Mehmood, as they worked together in Suhaag Raat.
