I suppose her idea may save a lot of women from marrying dogs: Twinkle Khanna comes in Deepika Padukone's support as she gets trolled for her dating phase revelation on KWK8

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh graced the koffee couch of Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan Season 8 in the first episode and although there was a lot of appreciation for both, some people did disagree with Deepika’s confession of casually dating while also seeing Ranveer and the trolling surfaced later.

Now Twinkle Khanna took stand against the trolls and went on to support Deepika praising that she didn’t fall under ‘societal norms’ also highlighting that such things can save a lot of women from marrying the wrong men.

Twinkle said, "On 'Koffee with Karan' Season 8, Deepika managed to outrage uncles, aunties, and an entire lot of India’s not-so-eligible bachelors by confessing that unlike her reel self, she did not swoon and fall at the feet of the first moustached suitor hanging around her. Instead, she had dated other men while also dating her future husband. The trolling she has received because of her admission is baffling."
She further added, "While we wait for the day when legislators stop barking up the wrong tree and legalize same-sex marriages, I suppose Deepika’s idea of making an informed choice may save a lot of women from marrying dogs, and more commonly, frogs in princely robes."

It all began while Deepika mentioned during the episode that there was a time where she felt low and after being through some toxic relationships she just wanted to take a break from everything and decided not to commit. Further after Ranveer entered her life she shared that they weren’t together and she would date other men but in her mind she would always come back to him.

The actress said, "I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said 'I just don't want to be attached, don't want to be committed'. And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn't commit, until he proposed to me. There was no commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other."
