Bollywood action filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe is assembling in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City where shooting on Singham 3 kick-started yesterday. First to fly down were the director and Singham superstar Ajay Devgn. Following them today was Kareena Kapoor Khan. And tomorrow, fresh from the wide acclaim his Friday release Mission Raniganj got from critics and audiences, will be Akshay Kumar’s turn. It is believed he will be giving his muhurat shot for Singham 3 in the afternoon. Ranveer Singh, the other big attraction in this action extravaganza of the Cop Universe, is going next week. A source from the set said, “These actors coming together and working in each other’s films is really like a Bollywood brotherhood. There is such bonhomie among them it is contagious and great to see.”
There is already immense excitement in audiences for Singham 3. Ever since the film went on the floors in early September, fans of Akshay, Ajay and Ranveer have been rubbing their hands in glee in anticipation of the three superstars combining their action chutzpah again after Rohit pooled their talents for Sooryavanshi in 2021 – the fourth of his Cop Universe films. The filmmaker had gone onto social media to promise that this time the action would be bigger and bolder. “Singham has a loyal fan base and we are giving our heart and soul to this film. That’s what keeps us going and motivates us to make it bigger. One has to upgrade to do better and make something exciting,” Rohit told the media. Bets are being made that by “upgrade” Rohit intends to expand his Cop Universe by introducing Tiger Shroff and Siddharth Malhotra too in Singham 3.
While details of Singham 3 are not available, it is understood that in cop avatars again will be Ajay as Bajirao Singham, Akshay as Veer Sooryavanshi and Ranveer as Bhalerao Simmba Sangram. The Bollywood media is abuzz with news that Deepika Padukone has joined this galaxy of male superstars to play an action role as Lady Singham. The baddie of Singham 3 is being kept a secret for the moment but sources say it is most likely going to be Arjun Kapoor. Rohit is happy with the way the script has turned out and is eager to roll the cameras as soon as his cast assembles in Ramoji Film City. They were all seen together in Sooryavanshi which was led by Akshay and went on to become the film that broke the jinx in 2021 that Covid had cast on the industry the previous year.
