Sunny Deol compares son Rajveer Deol's film Dono with Socha Na Tha, calls it 'better'

Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol and Pamila Thakeria are all set to make their debut in Avnish Barjatya’s directed Dono. The film follows the story of two strangers who meet at their friends' wedding and navigate love through breakup and closure.

At the trailer launch of the film today, Sunny  compared the film with his own production, the 2005 film Socha Na Tha which was appreciated for its unique concept back then. SNT was the then launch vehicle of Sunny's cousin Abhay Deol.

Sunny said, "Yeh film aaj ki hai, aaj ki generation ki hai kyunki mene dekhi hai. Aur mein bas yehi keh sakta hu meri ek film thi, mene joh banaya thi Socha Na Tha, shayad aap logo ko achi lagi hogi uss waqt. And I think this film is nothing less than that or maybe more. Hamare director sahab ne joh kiya hai bhut bariya kiya hai. Because over here he has brought up joh aaj ki generation wedding ko kis tarah se dekhti hai or relations kya hote hai, jese live in hote hai, parents ka hota hai, means joint means, weddings karvate hai, arranged marriages hote hai. Yeh sab chizon ko pakar ke usne jis tarah se sab characters jitne bhi iss film mein hai sabko jis tarah se ikatha kiya hai aur sab ki apni apni ek dard hai ya kahaani hai, unka vishwas hai ki mein esa rehna chahta hu ya Voh pura iss film mein aata hai. Toh I am very sure this is very deep rooted today’s youngsters film."

Rajshri Productions is in it’s 76th year of establishment and Dono is Rajshri’s 59th Film. In association with Jio Studios, the film is directed by debutant director and iconic filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya 's son Avnish S. Barjatya and will release on October 5.
