OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi has received much appreciation from the audience. Being called a bold and brave experiment, the film managed up to reach out to masses with the desired message but failed to convince the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to reduce the audience age group from being 18+. OMG 2 has been granted an ‘A’ certificate making it an Adult Only film thus restricting the younger audience to see it. Although the film was granted a U/A certificate in UAE and Oman.
Ironical, as the film deals with sensitive issue of sex education among teenagers. Many filmmakers and industry people have come out and questioned CBFC's decision since then. 

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who is known for his staunch views, while promoting his upcoming film Haddi,  called CBFC a weak system. Anurag stated, "This is something one has to deal with. Censor ko lataad padi na uss picture ke liye. People blasted them. The true intention of a film will reach the audience one way or the other. You cannot stop people from feeling offended. Faltu log faltu cheezein pe kahan bhi offend hote hai.They need to work on their system. They are so weak and thin-skinned that they get offended by anything.”

Earlier, Aarush Varma who portrayed the role of Pankaj’s son in the film filed a petition stating that the decision should be reconsidered and the film should be allowed for the younger audience as it carries an important message. The film revolves around the need of sex education. Even filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri lashed out at CBFC for the same.
