Earlier in 2021, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were reported to have developed a rift over personal issues which lead to Dostana 2 coming to a half. For the uninitiated, Kartik was Dharma's face in for the sequel of the much loved franchise.But it seems, the actor-producer duo have left behind their differences behind and have moved towards a fresh start. Recently, both of them reunited at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in Australia.
During a media interaction at the event, Karan and Kartik were questioned if a collaboration over a project or a film can be expected out of both of them. Responding to this, Karan said, “We made one attempt but for various that didn't fructify. We have been in conversation to do something and I hope that does happen. In fact, that’s something about which we both are very excited.” Kartik smiled and added, “I think there is a whole ChatGPT involved in it.” When further asked if Dostana 2 is happening, Karan quipped, “Ask us more secrets and we will tell you.”
Further, Karan was even seen praising Kartik over his performances in films and joked about him getting married by the end of the festival. Referring to his recent fan proposal, Karan quoted, "I believe you will be married by the end of this year. What fun if it is a wedding in Melbourne.” He then added, “Kartik's films have deeply resonated with the country and has always brought in so much fervour back to the cinema halls. More power to him. May his contribution to cinema always continue. Well done, Kartik."
