In the countdown to Gadar 2’s release on August 11, Sunny Deol and his Dhai Kilo Ka Haath are of the first impression that no movie that Bollywood made after the 2001 release of his actioner prequel with Ameesha Patel, has been so romantic. He saw it again recently in a theatre, and when Sunny saw how happy people were with Gadar, he was encouraged to think very positively about its sequel releasing alongside Akshay Kumar’s OMG2. 

“The audience believed in those characters and with Gadar 2, they will start believing again,” he has predicted. Well, yes, hopefully. But it’s been 22 years since both films. And a younger generation might find an old timer’s notion of romance and action passé. But Sunny will disagree. Age is just a number. He’s still doing what he could do. And what youngsters can do. Let’s see if the box office agrees.
