On Wednesday, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extended invitations to 398 distinguished artists and executives to join the organisation in 2023. Several Indian personalities will be representing the country on the global platform. Karan Johar has been invited along with RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, Mani Ratnam, Chaitanya Tamhane, Shaunak Sen, M.M. Keeravaani and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
In an official statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said, "The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals into our membership. They represent extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines, and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of motion pictures and on movie fans worldwide."
Apart from them, celebrities like Austin Butler, Stephanie Hsu, Taylor Swift and others have been invited too.
