Rohit Shetty is not only a successful director with one superhit after another under his belt but is also known for his charity and social work. The filmmaker has often come forward to extend help to the needy. In lieu of his philanthropic activities, Rohit was recently honoured with the MaTa Sanman Special Award for his social work and contribution to the field of entertainment.
The award was given to Rohit by CM of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. For the unversed, the award ceremony in the entertainment world - Mata Samman 2023 – was held recently. Besides actors, a bunch of technicians and other popular celebs were honoured for their contribution.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rohit’s last film Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh in the lead did not fare well at the box office. However, the director did not let the setback bow him down and started work on his debut OTT project Indian Police Force with renewed vigour. The series stars Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty. He has also started the pre-production of Singham Again, the third part in the Singham franchise headlined by Ajay Devgn.
