Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have finally revealed the name of their newborn daughter. The actress took to Instagram to make the big reveal along with sharing a little glimpse of the baby girl. Alia revealed that her little munchkin has been named Raha Kapoor. Raha has been named by her ‘wise and wonderful Dadi’ Neetu Kapoor.
Sharing a picture with a football jersey and shorts in focus that has the name ‘Raha’ on it, Alia shared the meaning behind the name. She wrote, “The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla - rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her - we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun.”
Alia’s comments section is flooded with comments by fans, friends and family. Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, “Raha Kapoor can I hold you can’t wait,” while Sonakshi Sinha sent heart emojis. Alia’s BFF Anushka Ranjan wrote, “Angel baby.” Raha’s nani Soni Razdan and bua Riddhima Kapoor Sahni sent red heart emojis.
Ranbir and Alia welcomed their daughter on November 6. The couple had tied the knot on April 14, 2022 and soon announced their pregnancy.
