Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have embraced a new phase in their lives. The celebrated couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, today. After the birth of their daughter, Alia and Ranbir issued a joint statement to all their well-wishers and fans.

In the statement, Alia and Ranbir wrote, "And in the best news of our lives:-Our baby is here... and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love-blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!! love love love Alia and Ranbir (sic)."

Alia was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre this morning.
