Brahmastra: Ayan Mukerji gives an update on the release date of Part 2 and 3 of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film, blocks Diwali 2025 and Christmas 2026

Ayan Mukerji is currently on cloud nine after tasting success for his recently release directorial Brahmastra Part One Shiva. The director introduced the audience to Astraverse and successfully conceptualized a fantasy film based on Indian mythology with spectacular special effects. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni, Brahmastra is raking in moolah at the box office. Now, Ayan has shared an update on the release dates of Brahmastra Part Two: Dev and Part 3.

At a recently concluded media event, the filmmaker gave an update about the release date of Brahmastra Part 2 and 3 and said, “We have a release date target, to be honest. 3 years from now, which is somewhere around Diwali 2025. For part 3, our target is 1 year after that (release of Brahmastra part 2). I say Diwali 2025 and Christmas 2026. I say this with a disclaimer because we have said this on Brahmastra also, and I think we had about 6 release dates on Brahmastra part 1."

Producer Karan Johar who was also present at the event said, “Ayan has very nicely given the release dates of part 2 and 3 and very nicely blocked those dates in a very casual way. I am a real shocked that you’ve given out these dates.” To this Ayan said, “But Karan I’ve already said it.”

At the same event, Ayan also reacted to some bad reviews and the criticism over the dialogues and story of Brahmastra and said, “I have heard stuff like the dialogues did not really work as well, people weren’t 100 per cent convinced about the love story. So, I am hearing it, but I am also waiting for enough time for the film to truly settle. There are a lot of people writing about the film and all and I am happy to hear it, but I don’t know if they have a pulse about what is truly working and not working on a film and I think you can go very wrong when you start over listening to everything as well."
