Raju Srivastava’s death came as a shockwave for his fans yesterday. The stand-up comic was a legend and looked up to by fans, celebs and other stand-up comics as well for his sense of humour and observational comedy. Several political leaders such as PM Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu to celebs like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor expressed their heartfelt grief at his passing. However, stand-up comedian and now defunct AIB co-founder Rohan Joshi was not having any of it as he was not grieving for Raju’s demise and even said ‘good riddance’ at his passing while commenting on stand-up comedian Atul Khatri’s social media post. However, Rohan soon had to delete his comment and issue an apology when netizens destroyed him with their scathing remarks.
Atul shared Raju's photo and wrote, "RIP Rajubhai. You were such an inspiration to so many. Whenever you went on stage you lit it up. Your presence was such that when people just saw you there was an automatic smile on their faces. You will be truly missed. A big loss for the Indian Stand-up Comedy scene."
Soon after his post, Rohan took to the comments section and spewed venom and hate against the legendary comedian. Rohan wrote, “We haven't lost a thing. Whether it was Kamra whether it was the roast or any coming in the news. Raju Srivastava took every opportunity he ever got to shit on new comics, especially after the new wave of stand up started. He went on every f**kall news channel every time he was invited to go shit on an upcoming art form and call it offensive just because he couldn't understand it.”
He got brutally trolled for his hateful comments as netizens could have none of it. They called him out for his distasteful comment. Later Rohan deleted his comment and wrote, “Yehi soch kar delete kiya kyuki after a minute of anger I realised today is not about my personal feelings. Sorry if it hurt and thanks for the perspective."

For the unversed, Raju Srivastava who was admitted to the AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi after he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed while working out at a hotel gym last month, passed away at the age of 58 years on Wednesday, September 21. Raju did not regain consciousness and breathed his last yesterday. Today, he was cremated by his son Ayushmaan at Mumbai. He is survived by his son, daughter Antara and wife Shikha.
