On Thursday night, the person who sent the anonymous threat letter to Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan was identified as Vikram Brar, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. However, a shocking revelation was soon made by a news channel that an attempt was made to kill Salman and that a sharpshooter was hired and placed outside the actor’s residence, but the superstar was saved by a whisker and a stroke of luck.
As per the media report, Lawrence Bishnoi, ac accused in the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder had dispatched a sharpshooter with a small-bore weapon hidden in a modified hockey casing to assassinate Salman. The sharpshooter was allegedly planted outside the actor’s Galaxy Apartment residence but backed out at the last minute. The report stated that the culprits were aware that Salman heads out to cycle around the neighbourhood, without the company of a bodyguard and hence was vulnerable at that juncture. They had devised a plan to kill him then.
However, on the planned day when the sharpshooters were about to carry out their plan and when Salman was about to leave his house that morning, an escort of Mumbai Police who was at his gate, started a conversation with the actor as he had a public function to attend that day. This nudged the sharpshooter and his companions and they decided to abort their plan for the time being. They were afraid of being apprehended by the police and hence they decided to abandon their plans.
Police were abreast of the threat to Salman’s life posed by the Bishnoi gang and they had beefed up the security arrangements for the actor. Bishnoi had earlier vowed to kill Salman after he was accused in the blackbuck poaching case of 1998 in Rajasthan. Salman’s father, Salim Khan was handed an anonymous threat letter by an unknown person after his morning walk at 7.30 am on a bench where he usually sits at Bandra Bandstand.
