Beloved playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK passed away last night on May 31, 2022, at Kolkata after performing at a live concert organized by Gurudas College at Nazrul Mancha. KK’s family arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday morning and the singer’s mortal remains reached Rabindra Sadan after the autopsy where the gun salute took place. West Bengal Chief Minister was joined by Babul Supriyo and Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim for the state honour and gun salute; they paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the singer.
KK reportedly fell ill during his performance and complained of the excessive heat but proceeded to complete the concert. However, he was rushed to the hospital after the concert where he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors at CMRI hospital.

KK’s demise has left his fans, family and music fraternity in deep shock. Several celebs took to social media to pay emotional and heartwrenching tribute to the singer. Netizens have been expressing their grief on social media over his death.
KK’s funeral is reportedly going to take place in Mumbai.
