While announcing their separation after 15 years of marriage, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had made the promise of co-parenting their son Azad Rao Khan. In the statement, they assured to "remain devoted parents to our son, who we will nurture and raise together." Staying true to it, Aamir and Kiran reunited to celebrate Azad's 10th birthday on Wednesday.
Author and columnist Shobhaa De was present at the party. She shared pictures of Aamir and Kiran with Azad. The former couple made sure that Azad's birthday becomes a memorable event. Aamir's elder son Junaid Khan, from his first wife Reena Dutta, can be seen in one of the pictures shared by Shobhaa.
Aamir and Kiran married in 2005 and welcomed their first son Azad in 2011. The actor has a daughter Ira Khan and son Junaid from his first marriage. On July 3, Aamir and Kiran issued a joint statement announcing their separation. A day after, they came together for a video and said, "Toh aap logon ko dukh bhi hua hoga, achcha nahi laga hoga, shock laga hoga. Hum bas itna aapko kehna chahte hai ki hum log dono bohot khush hai aur hum ek hi parivaar hai. Humare rishte mein change aaya hai. Lekin hum log ek doosre ke saath hi hai, toh aap log aisa kabhi mat sochiyega."
Aamir and Kiran will be working together professionally.
