Remember actress Shanthipriya, 50, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in the latter's first film Saugandh? Well, the diva who was a popular heroine down South became all the rage after her debut in the Hindi film industry. But, she has been missing from the silver screen for over 27 years. Shanthipriya was last seen in the 1994 film Ikke Pe Ikka. Ever since she hasn't taken up any mainstream film in any language.
However, now the actress is all set to make her comeback and web debut. According to a leading daily, a source close to the actress confirmed the development of Shanthipriya's digital debut but refused to divulge any details about the show.
Shanthipriya has been one of the few Bollywood actresses who has taken multiple breaks from acting, she’s been on a sabbatical about three times and returned to acting but has not restricted herself to films. She has acted in several TV serials like Mata Ki Chowki and Dwarkadheesh.
For the unversed, Akshay made his debut with actress Shanthipriya in the 1994 film Saugandh, who was already a popular star down South. Shanthipriya too made her entry into Bollywood with this film.
