Salman Khan pays tribute to his Maine Pyar Kiya music composer Laxman of Raam-Laxman duo

Veteran music director Vijay Patil aka Laxman of Raam-Laxman duo died on Saturday, May 22, in Nagpur. The music composer was 78 years old and was well-known for giving the music of several Salman Khan’s films including Maine Pyar Kiya, Patthar Ke Phool, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and others. Salman also took to social media to mourn the demise of the veteran music director.

Reminiscing about Laxman and paying tribute to his musical greatness, Salman tweeted, “Ram Laxman, music director of my successful films like maine pyaar kiya, patthar ke phool, hum saath saath hain, hum apke hain kaun has sadly passed away. May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to the bereaved family.”

The sad news of the music director's death was confirmed by his son Amar. “My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that," he told a leading daily.

In 1976, Raam (Laxman's partner Surendra) passed away immediately after signing the film Agent Vinod. Laxman continued to retain Ram's name in Marathi as well as Hindi films.
