Maidaan producers Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta dismiss rumours of Ajay Devgn’s film heading for a digital release, issue statement

Ajay Devgn’s upcoming sports biopic Maidaan is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. The film based on the football coach Syed Abdul Rahim has been in the works with Ajay playing the lead character. Recently, media reports started coming in stating that the film is looking for a digital release.

However, now the makers- Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta have negated all such speculations and released a statement stating that the film is not heading towards any streaming platform.

Maidaan producers - Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta issued a statement that read, “We would like to share that there is currently no conversation with any streaming platform for pay per view release of the film Maidaan. Our focus, at present, is to complete the film keeping everyone’s safety in mind and in full compliance of Protocols laid down by the Government. We request you to please reach out to us regarding any news about Maidaan.

Besides Ajay, the film also stars Priyamani and is directed by Amit Sharma. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah respectively. It is presented by Zee Studios. Cyclone Tauktae recently wreaked havoc on the sets of the film, videos of which went viral on social media.
