67th National Film Awards: Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush bag top honours; Sushant Singh Rajput’s Chhichore wins Best Hindi film; full winners list out

The 67th National Film Awards are being announced in New Delhi today. The ceremony bestows the most prestigious awards and honors on films and artistes for the year 2019. The awards were delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic and were scheduled to be held in May last year. The awards are given by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Manoj Bajpayee, Dhanush and Kangana Ranaut won the top honours of Best Actor and Best Actress respectively. Manoj won the award for Bhonsle, Dhanush for Asuran which also won Best Tamil Film while Kangana won her fourth National Award for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Panga. Vijay Sethupathi won Best Supporting Actor for Super Deluxe while Pallavi Joshi won Best Supporting Actress for The Tashkent Files. Best male Playback Singer was B Praak and Best Female Playback singer was Bardo. Sushant Singh Rajput’s Chhichore wins Best Hindi film. The Malayalam-language Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham won Best Film; it also picked up the award for Best Special Effects.
