Richa Chadha's upcoming film Madam Chief Minister is all set to release in theatres on January 22, 2021. Ahead of the film's release, the makers are facing several obstacles. After the controversy over the poster for the 'stereotypical portrayal of Dalits', Founder and National President of Bhim Sena, Nawab Satpal Tanwar, has threatened to kill Richa, who plays the titular role.
Satpal, in an interview with a Hindi publication, accused Madam Chief Minister of malign the image of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati. While the director, Subhash Kapoor, claimed that it is a work of pure fiction, Satpal refused to buy it and believed that the film is based on Mayawati's life and represents wrong facts.

After the poster of Madam Chief Minister received backlash, Richa issued an apology. However, it appears Satpal hasn't accepted it. He further stated that he won't allow Madam Chief Minister to release in Uttar Pradesh. Satpal even threatened to kill Richa if the film releases. He also announced that the person, who brings to him Richa's chopped tongue, will be given the Babasaheb Ambedkar Shield worth Rs. 2 crores. He didn't stop here. He also asked his supporters to kidnap Subhash so that he can make him walk naked on the streets.
Swara Bhasker condemned Satpal's statement. She tweeted, "This is absolutely shameful & to be condemned in no uncertain terms. You can have ideological issues & problems with a film but this is criminal intimidation & incitement to violence. Ambedkarites, Dalit feminists & just sane people- stand up & call this out!"
