'Generations will be inspired to follow life lessons taught by Lord Ram,' says Akshay Kumar urging fans to donate for construction of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir

On November 14, 2020, Akshay Kumar announced his upcoming film titled Ram Setu. Days later, he met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to PeepingMoon sources, the two met to discuss the shoot of Ram Setu and Yogi has apparently given permission to Akshay to shoot the film in Ayodhya. A few months after announcing the project, Akshay, today revealed that he has contributed towards the construction of the Ram Mandir.

In a video shot at his residence, Akshay told a tale from the epic Ramayan and urged people to make donations. He started the video by saying that the previous night, he told his daughter Nitara Bhatia the story of a squirrel who desired to make a contribution in the construction of Ram Setu so that Lord Ram could reach Lanka without any trouble. The superstar then said the story of the squirrel should inspire everyone to contribute towards the construction of the Ram Mandir.

He said, "Today, it is our turn. In Ayodhya, a large temple is being made for Lord Shri Ram. Some of us should be the vaanars, some of us should be the gilheris, and make contributions that suit our capacity to this historical cause. I will be the one to begin. I am sure you will join me too so that the generations that will come after us will be inspired to follow life lessons that the righteous Lord Ram taught us."

"It is a matter of great pleasure that the construction of our grand temple of Shri Ram has begun in Ayodhya. Now it is our turn to contribute. I have started, hope you will join together. Jai Siya Ram," he captioned the video.
