Weaving a memorable and evergreen film out of a simple love story of Raj and Simran, Aditya Chopra broke all records with his directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. A romantic film with all the ingredients of a blockbuster, the Yash Raj Films' mega-blockbuster, continues to be a favourite among the audience. Today, as DDLJ completes 25 years since release, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol took fans on a trip down the memory lane. Changing their Twitter names to Raj and Simran respectively, Shah Rukh and Kajol thanked all those who made the film a mega-blockbuster and an evergreen one.
Shah Rukh, on Twitter, shared a video and wrote, "25 years!!! Filled with gratitude towards you for loving Raj & Simran, with all your heart. This always feels special"

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge made history with a 1,274-week run at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre. It had to be pulled down when the theatre was forced to temporarily close in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film also starred late Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Himani Shivpuri, Parmeet Sethi, Pooja Ruparel, Farida Jalal and Satish Shah among others.
