Veteran playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to MGM Healthcare on August 5, 2020, after testing positive for COVID-19. Now, nearly 20 days later, the singer who was known as Salman Khan's voice in films in the '90s has tested negative for the novel Coronavirus. The son of 74-year-old legendary music personality, SP Charan, in a statement, gave a piece of pleasant news by informing SPB fans that he is stable and fine.
"Thanks for your continuous support and prayers for my father. My father is fine and stable. His corona test has become negative. Will keep you posted about the updates," Charan wrote in the statement.
Speaking of SP Balasubrahmanyam, he was shifted to the ICU on August 13, when his health deteriorated. He was then put on life support as his condition remained critical. The doctors closely monitored his vitals throughout the week.
The music fraternity, for the recovery of their beloved 'Balu sir', organised a mass prayer on August 20, 2020, at 6 pm. Several Tamil celebrities prayed for his speedy recovery as one of his songs played in the backdrop. Charan, overwhelmed with the love his father was receiving in tough times, thanked everyone with a video message.
