She was an institution that defined an era of dancing with abandon, emotion & passion: Priyanka Chopra Jonas remembers working with Saroj Khan in 'Agneepath'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shared her condolences at the death of acclaimed choreographer Saroj Khan. The two had worked together on Agneepath’s song Gun Gun Guna Re Gaana Re. Saroj Khan who was lovingly called ‘Master ji’ by Bollywood celebs passed away in the wee hours yesterday. She was 71-years-old and suffered a cardiac arrest. 

In an emotional post, Priyanka wrote, “Many of my teenage dreams came true when she choreographed me in Agneepath. Taskmaster, perfectionist, innovator, trendsetter, genius... Saroj ji was many things to many people. To me, she’ll always be an institution that defined an era of dancing with abandon, emotion & passion. May the heavens dance to your tune Masterji... #RIPSarojKhan.”

Saroj was earlier admitted to a hospital in Mumbai last month for breathing issues. Her last rites were performed at Malad, in Mumbai yesterday. Her demise was mourned by almost every Bollywood and TV celeb. Her career spanned more than four decades in which she choreographed over 2000 songs and worked in more than 200 films. She was also a recipient of three National Awards and eight Filmfare Awards for Best Choreographer.
