A few months ago, Dia Mirza and R Madhavan reunited for an Instagram live session on the environment. The Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein co-stars left fans excited when they expressed their desire to feature in the film's sequel as Reena and Maddy yet again. Well, it seems their wish is about to get fulfilled. According to reports of a leading daily, the makers of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein are toying with the idea of the sequel for more than a decade and have finally found the right script to take the franchise forward.
As per a source close to the development, Dia and Madhavan have been approached to reprise their roles in a mature love story that traces the disillusionment creeping into their marriage and how they struggle to revive the relationship. "The makers toyed with some concepts, on and off, over the years. Only now have they found a script that has appealed to everyone and seems a natural progression to the lives of Maddy and Reena. The script is in the final stage of development," the source told.

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein released in 2001 and marked Madhavan's and Dia's debut Hindi film as the lead. It also featured Saif Ali Khan in an important role. Directed by Gautam Menon, the romantic drama attained the status of an evergreen film and two decades later, fans can't stop gushing over it. It was produced by Vashu Bhagnani.
