World Environment Day (WED) celebrated on June 5 annually was founded by the United Nations to encourage ‘worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment’. Today, on the occasion, Bollywood celebrities urged people to work towards saving the planet.

Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Kriti Sanon, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Yami Gautam, Nushrat Bharucha, Dia Mirza, Kartik Aaryan, Sidharth Malhotra and Ayushmann Khurrana posted photos and videos dedicated to World Environment Day. 

Akshay shared a video and captioned it as, "Dhakk Dhakk Dharti This #WorldEnvironmentDay, let’s join hands to restore our bond with Mother Earth."

Bhumi took it upon herself to create awareness about World Environment Day through her initiative, Climate Warrior, through which she urged people to share ‘One Wish for The Earth’. Several actors joined her in her initiative and posted videos.

The sole effort put behind all of these activities has been a joy-ride and a learning process for me.
