Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently hit the headlines when his niece alleged that his brother had sexually harassed her when she was nine years old. Another brother of the actor, Shamaz Nawab Siddiqui took to Twitter to put out some clarifications while hinting about the same controversy. In his tweet, Shamas has stated that the law has been misguided as Nawazuddin’s name was never mentioned in an earlier statement.
Shamas in his tweets said that the person behind publicizing these fake things in media will be uncovered soon. He also said that the case was pending in Uttarakhand High Court and hence how can it be filed in Delhi. He also stated that Nawazuddin’s name was not mentioned in the first case and is now being floated to discredit him.
Nawazuddin’s niece had spoken about the sexual assault case against the actor’s brother to a leading daily a few days earlier. She had said, “I have filed a complaint about sexual harassment by my uncle when I was nine years old. My parents were divorced when I was two years old, so I had a stepmother. I was tortured a lot. As a child I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realized it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too.” She also revealed that she had raised the issue with her bade papa (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), but received no support.
On the other hand, Nawazuddin’s estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui who has sent a divorce notice to the actor supported his niece.
