‘Both are credible in their own way,’ says Anushka Sharma on comparison between her production ‘Paatal Lok’ and ‘Sacred Games’

Amazon Prime Video’s Paatal Lok has become one of the most-loved series ever since it dropped two weeks back on the streaming platform. The series has received immense amount of accolades for the stellar performance by its lead star cast of Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Ishwak Singh, Neeraj Kabi and others. However, another person who is basking in the glory is none-other-than Anushka Sharma who produced the series with her brother Karnesh Sharma under their banner Clean Slate Filmz.

Now, in a recent interview, Anushka spoke about Paatal Lok being compared to Netflix’s Sacred Games and said, “People always find some commonality in things but if you see both the shows are very different from one another and both are credible in their own way. I think a lot of good work is being done for the OTT platform and I’m very appreciative of it.”

Sacred Games stars Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead, where the former plays a washed-out policeman similar to Jaideep’s character in Paatal Lok. Both the protagonists are looking at a final chance at redemption and looking to rise above their station.

Paatal Lok is based on the book by Sudip Sharma and is directed by Prosit Roy and Avinash Arun. It also stars Rajesh Sharma, Swastika Mukherjee, Niharika Lyra Dutta etc.
