Makers of Kamal Hassan's Indian 2 have refuted rumours stating that the film is being shelved after back to back mishaps. According to previous reports, several factors in the past few months caused the makers to drop the idea of proceeding with the rest of the production on Indian 2 post the lockdown is lifted but now the makers have clarified. 

Controversies and adverse factors bogged down Indian 2 since the time it was announced. The thriller made headlines after music composer A R Rahman stepped down and Anirudh Ravichander was roped in. In addition to this, the initial financiers Dil Raju backed out and Lyca Productions were zeroed in. Apart from this, Kamal forayed into politics. Adding to the overall trouble was the major crane mishap that took place on the sets of Indian 2 earlier this year. As things settled down, a nationwide Coronavirus lockdown was announced and shoots were stalled. 

However, when a leading news website contacted Lyca Productions, the spokesperson of the production house, clarified that the project has not been dropped. He said, "These are baseless rumours. We have completed almost 60 per cent of the film's shoot. How will we consider dropping the project? We are planning to resume the shoot post lockdown."
